Arts and business go hand in hand. The Crisp Small Business Resource Center, Pitt Community College’s Small Business Center, and ECU’s Small Business and Technology Development Center are proud to partner with Emerge Gallery & Art Center, Home of the Pitt County Arts Council, to bring local artists a series of free workshops about business in the world of art.

Canva Training

"Canva makes it easy to create professional designs and to share or print them."
During this free workshop we will review the basics of using Canva, an online platform built for you to explore, experiment, and enjoy the design process by making work feel like play. Canva is a website with free or paid profile options. You are encourage to bring your laptops if you want to follow along, however computers are not required to attend the workshop. There will be time for a Q&A at the end.

Social Media Marketing

During this free workshop we will explore the large world of social media and how to stand out in front of the crowd. The presenter(s) will discuss their successful and not so successful posts, how to engage followers, and how to best use hashtags. There will be time for a Q&A at the end.

Thinking about starting a business, but don't know where to start? During this free workshop the presenter will walk you through the different steps of writing a business plan, what to consider when starting a business and some of their personal experiences. There will be time for a Q&A at the end.
